HERITAGE LAMBS. GRASS FED. GRASS FINISHED.
TUNIS HERITAGE BREED LAMB
In 2011 we began our lamb raising adventure with 8 crossbred 'white-escque' variety ewes. We were unsure of their breeding mix but felt they were enough to determine if sheep really were for us. And indeed they were. In 2013 we decided to grow our flock and carefully chose to bring the beautiful red headed Tunis sheep breed to the farm. Tunis sheep are a heritage breed known for their mellow demeanors, excellent mothering, red heads, pendulous ears, and ability to endure Wisconsin's weather extremes.
Tunis sheep are considered the nation’s oldest heritage sheep breed and have a long proven history of producing a carcass known for it’s tender, lean and mild yet flavorful meat. Our Tunis lambs are born and raised here on the farm. Amongst our highest priorities are their continuous access to green pastures, fresh water, sunshine and daily hands on attention.
HOW CAN I BUY LAMB FROM YOU?
We have all of our lambs processed locally, and can be purchased via individualized retail cuts or by the whole lamb. Purchasing by the retail cut allows you to pick and choose those cuts you enjoy the most without very much freezer space. Purchasing a whole lamb does take a bit more freezer space, but allows you even more customization of how you would like lamb cuts prepared. Click below for more info on purchasing options.
We are very pleased with our ever growing flock and the fine job they do turning leafy greens into such a tender, flavorful red meat. Grass fed lamb, delicious and healthy. Pure and Simple.
