This beautiful yearling, sheep hide is dear to my heart. If you or someone you love needs to be surrounded by a soft, generous hug, this is definitely the one! It’s possibly the “fluffiest” sheep hide we’ve EVER had! This soft, cloud worthy wool stands at a cushiony 3.5” long naturally, but could easily reach over 4.5” if combed out for true ultra poofiness.
Some of Todd’s most luxurious features are tied to his unique breeding cross. His wool’s cream (not white) coloring & crimp comes from the heritage breed American Tunis, while his soft “fluffy” characteristics come from his Texel breeding & a splash of Southdown, also a heritage breed, gives this hide some ultra impressive density. This hide’s sensational combination of lavish wool length; fiber softness; superior compression support from follicle density & the overall generous size make it absolutely heavenly!
Laying on this fleece feels how I’d imagine a bed of sugar-free cotton candy! Todd’s generous fleece spills over the leather by over 3.5”!! And this impressively large rug has NO holes or knicks! There is however, a very small spot of faint light blue on one end of the piece, but is ever so slight & few will notice. Frankly even if they do- all will be forgotten when they touch this unbelievably soft piece of comfort. A pillowy treasure.

TErminology & NOTES ABOUT our Sheephides:
LAMBS WOOL: The first growth of wool on a sheep. It is any Sheep’s softest wool & therefore the most premium wool available. “Lamb’s wool” is a common term used in garment & yarn descriptions to emphasize it’s softness & scarcity.
LAMB LEATHER: Yearling leather is an amazing combo of durable, yet impressively thin & supple. These characteristics all it to be used effective in a diverse number of settings wether draped over a couch, a chair, floor, bed, etc. this soft, white suede it up for the task.
VM/ VEGETATION IN THE WOOL: These hides originate from a genuine grass fed sheep farm here in Wisconsin. They are from well loved, working sheep. You will find small amounts of tiny pieces vegetation (particles of hay, etc ) down low in the wool. This is common amongst sheep that are pasture focused vs. those blanketed for wool. This vegetation does not deter from the hides soft, cushiony function nor it’s gorgeous appearance. It’s only apparent if you search for it & is easily removable.
